Strings & Tension
Strings
come in a variety of gauges and types (15, 15L, 16, 17, 18) - the
higher the gauge number, the thinner the string. Every racquet has a
recommended tension range; different tensions compliment different
styles of play. String your racquet higher for more control and lower
for more power. Of course, this also depends on your swing speed and
racquet. We will be happy to tailor the tension to you.

Strings
Strings come in a
variety of families and thicknesses (also called gauge). Depending on
the family of string and its gauge, the play of the string will be
vastly different. String characteristics include durability, resilience
(the "stretchiness" of the string), spin enhancement, power, and the
ability to hold tension. It is very true that there is a type of string
that will compliment your style of play. You man know of a string that
you enjoy playing with, but if not we engage all our customers in a
dialogue to help you decide what is best for you.
Tension
Every model of
racquet has a recommended range of tension (usually printed on the
inside throat of the racquet) and there is a tension that will fit the
way you swing. Although there are many question that must be answered
in order to better decide on the correct tension for you, there is on
simple fact about tension that holds true - higher tension give more
control and lower tension give more power. Simply put, if you swing
with power (like Andre Agassi) string your racquet higher. If your
swing speed is slower (like Andre Agassi's Grandmother) user lower
tension.
